Ok so I have been trying to get awstats work with cPanel hosting in a public directory – I am still working on the details with the images and such but for the most part its not too hard.
Start with this.
Download a copy of the existing cPanel AWStats config file from your home directory at tmp/awstats/awstats.mydomain.conf (replace mydomain with your own domain name to determine what yours is called).
Once you get that done all you gotta do is change the DirIcons path to point at the icons directory for your install of awstats – I put mine in the root and it found it no problem…
