Open Source Solutions

Mid size clients can now get web solutions for nearly all of the needs of their business. And most of these are free under the GPL license of open source! I am constanly adding new supported applications to the list of open source software that i recommend and can implement for my clients - here are just a few.

AWStats is a short for Advanced Web Statistics. It's a free powerful and featureful tool that generates advanced web (but also ftp or mail) server statistics, graphically. This log analyzer works as a CGI or from command line and shows you all possible information your log contains, in few graphical web pages.
MySQL is the world's most popular open source database, recognized for its speed and reliability.
Geeklog is a 'blog', otherwise known as a Weblog. It allows you to create your own virtual community area, complete with user administration, story posting, messaging, comments, polls, calendar, weblinks, and more! It can run on many different operating systems, and uses PHP4 and MySQL.
PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML.
I have reviewed may open source groupware and with out a doubt this is the best and the most stable - It also works in the most applications with support for Contact/address management , Webmail , full-featured Calendar , ToDo management , News , Project management , Some preferences for each module, Skins based on Cascading Style Sheets
